Keeping focused
There’s so much to think about when starting up on your own - it's really quite daunting, but I need to keep focused to get results.
Identifying my market and securing work with clients is my number one priority at the minute and it’s clear there is demand out there for a reliable and quality driven joinery services.
I have already provided a quote to fit a new bathroom and managed to slash the cost by half. And my banter on the street has led to me doing some smallish ad-hoc pieces of work for a guy in Middlesbrough – it will be interesting to see if it leads to more substantial and ongoing work. In the meantime I am also involved with renovating a house in Boldon, Tyne and Wear
I have also ordered those business cards! I have trawled the web over the last few evenings but found that Vista Print does great deals and allows you to get really creative when it comes to design.
I may also order some fridge magnets featuring my details for happy clients to keep. There are lots of clever marketing ideas to consider – the hard part is deciding which ones are relevant and will return results!
Any ideas out there?

Why don't you try designing some leaflets and dropping them in local business premises and door-to-door. Some may get thrown away tho - expect a 10% repsonse rate
